The Kennel

Shevington was registered as a prefix with the South Australian Canine Association in 1990.  The name "Shevington" was originally the name of the dairy which now forms part of the kennel buildings.
Beginning in 1991, 4 litters of Cocker Spaniels have been bred under the Shevington prefix, producing five Champions, including
Ch Shevington Royal T (owned by Anne Walker – Wardown Kennels), the dam of two Grand Champions.  In addition, one champion,
Ch Shevington Highland Mist
(owned by J O’Brien – Silverblue Kennels), has also earned her CD title, her TDX title and her Endurance Title.

In September 2004, we were proud to breed the first Field Spaniel litter in South Australia.  This produced Ch Shevington South Trader CCD (Harri).  We believe Harri is the first Field Spaniel in Australia to have gained an Obedience Title.
March 2008 saw the birth of the first Shevington litter of Sussex Spaniels - Ch Shevington Freddie and Ch Shevington Flossie.

Other breeds shown by Shevington Kennels, either in partnership, or as sole owners include Weimaraners, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Pointers, Gordon Setters and the Lagotto Romagnolo.
Our own achievements for dogs include Australian Championship titles for 4 Cocker Spaniels, 3 Pointers, 3 Welsh Springer Spaniels, a Weimaraner, 5 Field Spaniels and 3 Sussex Spaniels.
In addition, one of the Field Spaniels was made up to the title of Australian Grand Champion.  Two Cockers achieved their CD obedience title, and one of these his Endurance Title; one Welsh Springer gained her CD title and Ally (Mary’s Border Collie x Cocker Spaniel) gained her CDX title.
